The Resurrection and the Life

In John 11, Jesus does not merely promise that Lazarus will rise. He declares that He Himself is the resurrection and the life, showing Martha that resurrection is not first a future event to be discussed, but a person standing before her to be believed. This Easter message presses the hearer to see that Christ is not only able to raise the dead, but that all life, all hope, and all victory over the grave are found in Him alone.
