The Levitical priesthood could regulate worship, but it could never cleanse the conscience, conquer death, or bring sinners finally into the presence of God. Hebrews 7:11–16 reveals why another Priest was necessary: Jesus Christ came not to repair the old order, but to fulfill it and establish a better covenant through the power of an indestructible life. Because our Priest lives forever, His intercession never ceases, His salvation never fails, and all who draw near through Him are saved forever.
