The Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ

Many try to strip the cross of its severity, reducing it to something manageable, but it stands as the sovereign plan of God to deal decisively with sin. Christ the sinless One was treated as guilty in the place of sinners and bore the full weight of divine judgment. In that great exchange our sin is counted to Him and His righteousness is given to us. The Scriptures are explicit: You are either carrying your sin or Christ carried it for you.
