Our Sovereignly Fitted High Priest

Hebrews 7:26–28 shows us exactly the kind of High Priest guilty sinners need: holy, innocent, undefiled, exalted above the heavens, and perfectly fitted to bring us to God. Jesus did what no earthly priest could ever do. He offered Himself as the perfect, substitutionary sacrifice once for all, accomplishing a redemption that never needs to be repeated. Our salvation does not ultimately rest on the strength of our grip on Christ, but on the perfection of the Priest who holds us, intercedes for us, and lives forever.
